Windowmaker is really cool! But GNUstep is not. I
really think Alfredo and others should'nt wait for
GNUstep, but develop WINGs into a nice set of OOP
widgets.GNUstep won't become anymore mainstream

WindowMaker is the best! I've tried them all (mostly :) and i completely agree with you. KDE and GNOME are a little too "windowish". They are a good thing because they will let more people use linux (mostly the point'n'click users) but still, there is nothing like WM!

Nextstep is the best. Developers should not waste time on gnome. They just don't understand. We need apps on Linux. the gnome interface is dumb. Nextstep never became mainstream? There's way more apps for nextstep than for linux. linux lacks word processors and Web Browser spreadsheet. With Project Center a word processor can be built in 10 minutes using the object. Then ported to macos Ten.
