How can you set the PATH variable to be able to call the application you want (for instance a kde app in /opt/kde/bin) and forbit the usage of unwanted programs ?
If you set the PATH yourself, your application will rely on assuptions about the filesystem layout.
If you do not, you expose yourself to this simple attacks.
