I bought the air preassure sensor kit from ELV and assembled it. I got jumpy values and the value for the mesured temperature seemed to be a constant.
I tested the device with my oscilloscope and saw that the power is going on and of. This makes me think, that not every parallel port behaves the same. However. I tooked an external power supply and connected it to the device. Now it seems to measure correct.
Did anybody else had the same problems?

PS: Thanks for that article and keep up the good work.

I am new to this field.

This article suggests the installation of parapin driver to make it available to a group after kernel recompilation. I could manage to compile the source code of parapin-0.95 which generates kparapin.o and
the library parapin.o The kparapin.o module can be installed as a root using insmod command.

Kindly reply me on how to make it available to the ordinary users(group) now and not as root. By default, when booted the driver should be automatically installed to make it available to others. The users can
use this in their code and access parapin.

I also did not do the kernel recompilation. Is it necessary and kindly
give me pointers on the steps needed for kernel recompilation.

Thanks for that article, I wish to buy in short times an air pressure sensor to experimentations for my Doctorat but I have some questions. Do you know a supplier in France, and what is the cost for this sensor kit?

Thank you
